Number plates that make you laugh are priceless. You may find that years later you still chuckle when you tell your friends about them. Many comedians have had their own private number plates, such as Jimmy Tarbuck who had COM 1C on his car and Lennie Bennett who preferred GAG 22 as his registration number and Mike Reid who had JOK 1E adorning his mode of transport.. Even Bernard Manning got in on the act with 1 LAF and 11 LAF.
Fun plates can be collector’s items, as one man from Peterborough confirms, having bought an amusing number to add to his collection of unusual memorabilia. “I’m usually after 1950’s and early 1960’s objects – cars, clothes, records, jukeboxes, that kind of thing,†says John, “But I thought UND 1S was a particularly rare plate. I once owned a few net underskirts from the 1950’s, which is what made me notice UND 1S. It certainly makes people titter and pass comment.â€
